Description
Creating a smart building is one thing, creating a smart campus is something quite different. The degree of complexity grows exponentially when you add multiple buildings, uses, systems and people. For almost 20 years, this week’s Realcomm Live guest, Bobbie Tincher, Utilities Systems Manager - Energy Management at the University of Kentucky has been on the path to turn the university into a smart campus. Starting as a young female IT recruit in the facilities group, she plotted her course to bring IT functionality and capabilities to the stoic and sometimes stubborn world of facilities management. Working tirelessly behind the scenes with technical engineers, she developed a strategy that resulted in what some might call, “the most automated campus in the country and maybe even the world.” Bobbi is a woman accomplishing extraordinary things in a male-dominated industry and may well be one of the most inspirational unsung heroes of the recent chapter in the smart building revolution. You don’t want to miss her on this week’s episode of Realcomm Live.
