Description
Adoption of smart building technologies has accelerated as a result of the pandemic and is making its presence felt within our buildings. Not only is it transforming how we manage and operate our facilities, it’s also changing the way we work in and interact with them. It's no longer disputed that the transformation to smart, connected buildings can result in lower operating costs, energy optimization and conservation, and improved occupant experiences. The traditional workplace is changing and so are the people working in them. This week, Realcomm Live welcomes the 2021 Advisory Council co-chairs for IBcon, the Smart, Connected, High-Performance, Intelligent Buildings conference; Emmanuel Daniel, Microsoft; Dean Hopkins, Oxford Properties; and Sabine Lam, Google. These three are the world’s most prolific leaders on smart buildings and campuses. All have major smart building projects under development. We’ll explore these projects, as well as aligning real estate with operations, the technologies they are watching and where they see the industry going in the next 12-18 months.
